We are excited to have launched our Immigration Law practice with the opening of our office in North Pole! Undoubtedly, the Interior is one of the most welcoming regions in Alaska, and we benefit from the rich and deep cultural diversity of the peoples who make the area just south of the Arctic Circle their home. The Fairbanks North Star Borough is a community known for its independent, hardy, and self-sufficient residents. Conversely, those tough enough to endure the rugged and harsh nature of the Interior happen to be some of the most dependable, helpful, and generous neighbors found anywhere in the country. We limit our legal practice to partnering with those foreign nationals hoping to make the “Interior Alaska” their new home.

Business Law & Form

Whether you are a start-up or an established business concern ready to grow, we will advise you on the best structure for your business at any phase. We counsel sole practitioners, corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships on the full array of relevant law affecting business operations. We draft and file formation documents and periodic filings and will advise your business along the way through our outside general counsel services. We are focused on common law contract and property law relevant to doing business in the complex legal environment of state and local fora. Our capabilities include drafting business sales contracts, security agreements, and employment and management agreements as well as interfacing with other business partners and government offices. We can negotiate the dissolution of a business and distribution of assets for successful wind down of a business concern.

Real Estate & Property

Our firm’s focus on real estate and other property matters ranging from real and personal property to intellectual property. Our attorneys engage in real estate transactions in residential and commercial property, provide assistance in for-sale-by-owner transactions, advise on Alaska landlord and tenant issues, and counsel on other personal property matters. We draft house, condominium unit, and co-op sales agreements and leases. We also draft commercial property leases and sales agreements, promissory notes, deeds, deeds of trust with mortgage liens, and security agreements for collateral. We also provide limited legal counsel on intellectual property matters involving patents, trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets under Alaska and Federal law. Our attorneys provide representation in evictions and foreclosure actions.

Bankruptcy & Consumer Protection

Bankruptcy matters under chapter 7, 11, 12, or 13 require filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court and interactions with a trustee. Our firm represents creditors or debtors in bankruptcy proceedings. Similarly, we advise consumers on various state and federal debt collection and credit laws enacted to protect consumers from predatory practices and exploitation and to allow creditors to deal fairly with debtors in collections actions. We are aware of the unique intersection of bankruptcy and the SCRA to protect Military members from creditor actions before and during bankruptcy cases.

Wills, Trusts & Probate

We can help meet your estate planning needs by drafting Alaska wills, living wills or advance medical directives, health care, general, and special (limited) powers of attorney, and testamentary and inter vivos (living) trusts. If you need to establish a guardianship for a minor or incapacitated adult or wish to pursue an adoption, our firm can advise and draft the documents for filing in state courts. We also provide legal representation in probate matters.

Government Contracts

From contract formation to performance, we provide government contractors with legal advice and business counsel throughout the complex process of federal, state, and local government procurement. We are well versed in the Alaska procurement and purchase statute and administrative code, the Federal Acquisition Regulation and executive agency supplements, federal laws relevant to government contracts, GAO and Board of Contract Appeals decisions and federal and state case law. We provide representation in protests, requests for equitable adjustment, claims, disputes, fraud investigations, suspension and debarment proceedings, and settlements resulting from litigation or through alternative dispute resolution.

Military & Veteran Matters

Our firm’s members are military retirees and veterans. We understand what it means to serve in our Nation’s Armed Forces in the U.S. and abroad. We know the challenges faced by active duty and Reserve service members and retirees.
